Richard Petty Museum

The Richard Petty Museum, established in 1988, is a glimpse into the life and accomplishments of the great racing legend. With 200 career wins & seven NASCAR Championships, the King has an awesome display of racing history as well as many personal collectibles from Richard and his wife, Lynda. Some of the personal collections contain over 350 guns, 900 dolls, & 500 pocket watches along with much more.

Petty's Museum has a special kids “pit stop” where children can hang out and design their own race car, and you can even have the King sign it & mail it back to you! Kids can also watch the movie “Cars” and sit in a mini race car!

There is a snack area with vending machines and a big screen TV, so you can sit & watch the race with us. You can also bring your lunch and eat it on the patio at the outdoor seating area.

Located at 142 West Academy Street, Randleman, NC 27317, the Richard Petty Museum is open Wednesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Visitors to the museum have a free pass to visit Petty's Garage, located just six miles north of the museum Monday-Thursday, 10-3pm. The garage is right beside the King’s old home place where it all began!
