All-Star Race:
17 - Marcos Ambrose, No. 9 DEWALT Ford
Showdown:
12 - Aric Almirola, No. 43 Smithfield Ford
- Carl Edwards won the pole for Saturday night's All-Star Race. Martin Truex Jr. won the pole for the Sprint Showdown.
- Edwards led Ford Racing in All-Star qualifying and will start. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. led Ford Racing in Showdown qualifying and will start fourth.
- The Showdown begins Saturday night, May 18, at 7:30 p.m. ET. The All-Star Race will be held after the Showdown at approximately 9 p.m. ET. Both will be broadcast live on SPEED, PRN Radio and SIRIUS/XM NASCAR Radio.
Almirola's Thoughts on Qualifying at Charlotte:
"We struggled with being loose. This is a lot different than normal. We had to qualify in race setup. Normally, we can run qualifying setups. I was pretty loose, but I think that is going to be really good for us in the race. I was really happy with our car in race trim, so our Smithfield Ford Fusion should be good tomorrow night."
Ambrose's Thoughts on Qualifying at Charlotte:
"It was the first laps I had in the backup car and we didn't get a chance to practice pit road at speed. It wasn't a good day, but we can only get better tomorrow night and take home the big prize for our team, RPM, DEWALT and Stanley."
