Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) will compete in the GoBowling.com 400 for the second and final stop at Pocono Raceway televised live on ESPN Sunday, August 3.

Both teams felt good about race trim but struggled with speed in qualifying. As they continue to work on the intermediate track program, they will use this weekend to build notes and momentum as The Chase to the Sprint Cup nears.

Kyle Larson won the pole.

Qualifying Results:
27: Marcos Ambrose, No. 9 DEWALT Ford
28: Aric Almirola, No. 43 GoBowling.com Ford

Comments from Marcos Ambrose after Qualifying at Pocono:

"The downforce tracks have been a struggle for us at RPM all year, and it continues here. I threw down some good laps there, so I'm pleased with my effort and we'll just keep working really hard. We've got good balance on the car, which is normally a good sign for the race, but we're just missing a couple tenths to get us to transfer through or it would have been a different story."

Comments from Aric Almirola after Qualifying at Pocono:

"It's really disappointing. Our cars aren't that off. The balance feels good. We are just missing some speed. This is a tough track that requires you to carry a lot of speed. We'll work hard in both practice sessions tomorrow to get our race trim better. I don't think we were off too much in race trim in practice this morning, but we really struggled to find speed in qualifying. We'll keep working on it and hopefully improve for Sunday."
