Dover 400 Qualifying Report
Dover International Speedway
The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series visits the one-mile, high-banked, Doer International Speedway this weekend for a 400-lap feature event on Sunday.
The No. 43 Smithfield Ford team unloaded on Friday for practice and qualifying. Regan Smith continues to sub for the injured Aric Almirola. Smith and the team made a lot of progress on the car in practice, but may have adjusted too far for qualifying. The team will balance the car during final practice sessions on Saturday and look forward to a march to the front on Sunday.
1: Kyle Busch
30: Regan Smith, No. 43 Smithfield Ford
Comments from Regan Smith after qualifying at Dover:
“We worked on our entry this morning and that is a lot better. We just sacrificed our exit too much. That made us too tight. We have the speed in the car to have a good finish. We just need to make some adjustments on Saturday and pass a lot of cars on Sunday. This Smithfield team can get it done.”
