Richard Petty Motorsports Hollywood Casino 400 Qualifying Report
Loose in the first practice session of the day, Aric Almirola and the No. 43 Smithfield Ford team tightened up the car for qualifying. Speeds slowed for the evening qualifying session and tightened up cars. This made the No. 43 Ford too tight. The team qualified 26th for Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400

Comments from Almirola after qualifying at Kansas:
“We struggled to find the balance we need in qualifying trim, but I felt pretty good about race trim. We just barely missed it in qualifying. We were a little too free in Turns One and Two, and a little too tight in Turns Three and Four. The lap times are so close that you can’t miss it. But, I feel confident about our car in race trim. We’ll have two practices to dial that in tomorrow and be ready to race on Sunday.”
