CAN-AM 500 Qualifying Report

Phoenix International Raceway

The Phoenix International Raceway hosts the semifinal event of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series this weekend.  Qualifying was held on Friday evening, setting the starting field for Sunday’s race. Aric Almirola will start 22nd in the No.43 U.S. Air Force Ford.

Starting Positions:

1: Ryan Blaney

22: Aric Almirola, No. 43 U.S. Force Ford

Comments from Almirola after Qualifying at Phoenix:

“We struggled a little bit in practice, but we were a little better in qualifying. We got the car to turn better and we had our best laps of the day.  We weren’t bad earlier in race trim, but we didn’t spend a lot of time on it either. I think Sunday we have a good chance to have a good race.  The last few weeks we’ve really come together on race day.”
